Reset Your Faith

Text: Hebrews 11:1, 6

Faith In God:

Faith obeys before it sees.

(2 Sam. 22:31) – God has a proven track record of trustworthiness.

David committed himself to trusting the Lord despite his challenges and circumstances. He developed this habit early on after facing a lion, a bear, Goliath, and other challenges throughout his life (1 Sam. 17:34-37; Ps. 27:1).Ps. 27:13-14 – Faith is confidence and trust in God’s ability.

Remind yourself of God’s power by dedicating time to the Scriptures.

Satan favors believers who haven’t filled their minds with God’s Word, as empty minds are easier to deceive. Strong faith is a result of feeding and acting on the Word of God.

Isaiah 40:28-31 – When your faith is renewed, your strength is renewed.

God revives what has grown weary and pours strength into surrendered hearts.

Cultivating Unwavering Faith:

Here are three characteristics of unwavering faith.

1. Faith in God never gives up (Heb. 10:35-36).

Faith is a commitment to trust God, regardless of the circumstances (Rom. 4:17-21). Abraham was in a hopeless situation, and he held on to God’s promise. Are you facing hopelessness? Are the odds stacked against you? If so, find the promise of God for your situation and hold on to it. Unwavering faith refuses to back down or settle for less than God’s best.

Blind Bartimaeus was determined to receive his miracle from Jesus despite those who told him to be quiet (Mark 10:46-52).

2. Faith always takes action (James 2:17, 26).

Faith always calls for corresponding action. Our actions reveal what we truly believe. Every promise from God is a commitment to your future.

3. Faith in God will not compromise (Rom. 12:2).

We should not compromise our lifestyle (Dan. 1:8 NLT). We must not compromise in the preaching of the gospel (Acts 5:27-32, 38-42).

Boldness, not weakness, characterized the early church.

Faith in God requires taking a bold stand for the gospel of Jesus Christ (Rom. 1:16).

Satan will do everything he can to take you out, but you must be firm in your faith (1 Peter 5:8-10).

We must not compromise in possessing our inheritance (Num. 14:6-9).

Joshua and Caleb were determined to believe in God’s promise despite the ten spies’ unbelief.

Staying in faith requires overcoming fear and the unbelief of others (Num. 14:1-5, 10).

Our region belongs to God (Ps. 2:8), and it is part of the inheritance He has promised us. We must hold firmly to this promise.

Decide to stay in faith despite the opposition.

Call to Action:

Spend daily in God’s Word to remember who God is and boost your faith.

Act on what you believe, even when you don’t yet see the outcome.

Refuse to compromise, trust God’s promises over fear, doubt, or pressure.
