Armor Of God - Sword of the Spirit & Weapon of Prayer

Pastor Marlando Jordan concludes his series on the Armor Of God highlighting the Sword of the Spirit and the Weapon of Prayer.

Ephesians 6:10-18

The Sword of the Spirit

· A rhema word is a specific, quickened word from the scriptures by the Holy Spirit for your particular situation.

§ For Instance, if you are battling sickness Matt. 8:16-17 could be your rhema word.
§ When Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil, He received several rhema words from the Holy Spirit (Matt. 4:1-11).

How to receive Rhema words from the Holy Spirit?
1. Spend time reading and studying the Bible.
(Josh. 1:8)

§ No word, no rhema, no rhema, no power, no power, no victory.

Scriptures – Col. 2:6-7; Heb. 4:12; John 16:13

2. Spend time praying in tongues.
(Rom. 8:26-28)

§ Praying in tongues positions us to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit more clearly.
(1 Cor. 14:14-15)

The Weapon of Prayer

· Prayer is our lance that we use against the works of the devil which enables us to strike him from a distance.
· God has provided us with different kinds of prayer that we can use in spiritual warfare. These prayers include:

§ The prayer of consecration and dedication.
§ The prayer of intercession.
§ The prayer of faith.
§ The prayer of thanksgiving.
§ The prayer of agreement.
§ Praying in the Spirit.

· Without a prayer life defeat is inevitable.
