Divine Perspective

Divine Perspective
By Pastor Bob Stalberger

Scripture:
"’Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!” Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!” The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire. As the Aramean army advanced toward him, Elisha prayed, “O Lord, please make them blind.” So the Lord struck them with blindness as Elisha had asked. Then Elisha went out and told them, “You have come the wrong way! This isn’t the right city! Follow me, and I will take you to the man you are looking for.” And he led them to the city of Samaria. As soon as they had entered Samaria, Elisha prayed, “O Lord, now open their eyes and let them see.” So the Lord opened their eyes, and they discovered that they were in the middle of Samaria.” (2 Kings 6:16-20) NLT

Devotional:
We have many thoughts about our lives and what we should do, but where the Lord wants to take you, He needs to give you His perspective to get there. As we submit to His vision for our lives, we gain His perspective. God sees things with generations in mind and His perspective is eternal, not fleeting like ours often is.

So, the first step for us is to surrender to God so He can show us where He wants to take us. Life is full of many choices and often our biggest challenge is that we do not know what direction to go. The Lord wants us to see things clearly so we can live for Him fully. Just viewing circumstances from a natural perspective will leave us frustrated and confused, but with His divine perspective we will know what to do and when to do it. Life is simplified and full of joy when we know God is working in our midst!

With an eternal perspective, it helps you to not rush things here on earth and trust in God’s timing. Knowing He has a plan from generation to generation, all the way to eternity. He already has our part in His Master plan worked out and it is up to us to surrender, obey and walk in it.

We need to keep in mind there is a divine and eternal perspective. When things get difficult and you seem to hit a wall in regard to making decisions, it may be because you need to surrender, get His direction in your life and let Him lead and guide you into His truth. After all, we are a part of His plan for His Kingdom.

Prayer:
Father, I thank you that no matter what I face I know You are with me. I surrender to Your ways, give me Your perspective on life and eternity. Guide me into all truth by Your Spirit. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
